R100 000 reward for wanted suspects

Newspapers across Gauteng have been asked to task their readers with helping the police solve a crime which occurred in May.

Mondeor SAPS are looking for these suspects in connection with a murder and robbery case.

A reward of R100 000 is being offered to anyone who is able to provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the criminals involved in the robbery at Steers Columbine Crossing, and murder of  David Shaw, on May 31.

Here are the details of the events as told to Looklocal Joburg South journalist Zesuliwe Hadebe:

One of the suspects, caught on camera, is an African male with an in-between complexion and is suspected to be aged between 25 and 35.

He is tall, slender and has a scar on his cheekbone. He has no body defects and his eyes are medium sized. He was wearing a sky blue cap and he has a gold tooth. The suspect was travelling in an old green Golf vehicle.

This is the murderer caught on camera. His green and white jersey is quite distinctive with the diamond shaped pattern.

A witness, who often passes by looking for a job around the area where the incident occurred reports  he saw four black male suspects in a car parked from around 7am to 2pm on Tuesday. He saw the same suspects in the same car at 9pm the following (Wednesday).

The same happened on Friday at around 10am but this time there was no running away. The witness was not on the scene of the crime but saw where the getaway car was parked and with suspects in it.

The suspects drove a dark metallic green VW Golf with the registration KWT 585 GP (false number plates). They were involved in the murder and robbery of David Shaw at Steers Columbine Crossing on May 31 at about 9:15am.
