Bats and bowling – cricket has started

The Springs Old Boys Third League cricket team played against Rynsoord Third League from Benoni at the Springs Old Boys Club on Saturday.

Rynsoord batted first and notched up179 runs for nine wickets after 35 overs.

After taking the bat, the Springs Old Boys Third League team scored 177 runs for eight wickets after 32.3 overs.

The Springs Old Boys Team beat Rynsoord by two wickets.

This was the first, third league game of the season with Springs Old Boys kicking it off to a great start.

Butch Edwards was awarded as one of the top performers for the Springs Old Boys Third League’s batting section with 44 runs.

Craig Mharapara was also a top performer for batting, scoring 29 runs not out.

Brett Mostert scored 21 runs not out, also landing him in the top performer for batting category.

The top performing bowlers were Dillan Alberts with seven overs, five wickets for 25 runs, and Craig Mharapara with seven overs, three wickets for 34 runs.
