Woman (60) faces the barrel of a gun during hijacking

Two suspects waited for their victim outside her house in Casseldale before hijacking her car on Tuesday.

The 60-year-old woman returned home at 12.54pm and noticed a white BMW parked in front of her house.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the woman claims there was one suspect sitting in the vehicle while a second suspect was standing at her gate.

When she asked the suspect at the gate what he wanted, the suspect who was in the vehicle allegedly came from behind and pointed a gun at her.

“Standing with her car keys in her hand, the armed suspect allegedly took her car keys, got into her twilight blue Honda and drove off,” says Ramphora.

The other suspect got into the BMW and followed the Honda.

Ramphora says the vehicle was recovered in Fryer Road on the same day.
