According to WeatherSA, temperatures will fall to 13°C by Friday evening.

The weather service expects a maximum of 15°C on Saturday and a lower 13°C on Sunday with a 60% chance of rain on both days.

This comes after snowfall was predicted in the Western Cape today (Thursday), with icy weather moving along the country to Gauteng by the weekend, after which the front will move out to sea.

Staying in this weekend?

Warm up your home by keeping windows and doors closed to prevent the chill seeping in.

If you were a little too excited about spring being here, we suggest unpacking the winter clothes and donning those sweaters and scarves.

A blanket or three coupled with hot chocolate and binge watching your favourite series or movies may not be a bad idea… at all.

And lastly, make some soup.

Here are a few recipes

On the move this weekend?

Don the sweaters, hoodies and gloves you may or may not already have packed away.

Take an umbrella with you, whether you’re visiting the mall or a friend’s place, be ready for rain.

Also, never forget to wear an extra pair of socks, be safe, be warm, be smart.

Have a fun weekend.
