Following a report about the unimproved state of service delivery on Selection Park’s Oppenheimer Circle (Metro still failing to deliver), the metro has since responded.
Mayoral spokesman, Zweli Dlamini, says major breakdowns on the vehicles continue to result in backlogs of refuse collection services.
While there are litter-picking services, Dlamini also appeals to the community to ensure that they are accountable and responsible for ensuring that the environment is litter-free.
“Littering by the community is a pure sign of disrespect towards the environment and fellow community members,” he says.
Going forward, Dlamini says such issues should be reported to the Electronic Management Information Systems.
