The 38-year-old man received four life sentences for the double murder of a woman and her infant in April 2014, and 20 years for rape.
Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says Mohale was part of the group of suspects who hijacked a vehicle in which the woman and her child were transported to their residential area.
Ramphora says the suspects robbed the driver, raped the woman and killed her and the infant.
“She was shot four times,” he says.
Through thorough investigation the SAPS provincial task team arrested Mohale, who will serve his sentence at Modderbee Prison.
Ramphora says the investigation continues as the other suspects are still at large.
