IMPORTANT: Demolition in Geduld scheduled for tomorrow
One of the Enstra Mill silos is scheduled for demolition tomorrow (Saturday) at the Enstra Paper plant in Geduld.
Residents are warned to avoid the area and that part of East Geduld Road will be closed to ensure the demolition goes smoothly.
The road will be closed off at 8.35am and will re-open around 9.20am.
• At 8.30am the first 30 minute warning siren will go off.
• A final security check of the buildings and workshops will take place at 8.40am.
• The 15 minute warning siren will go off at 8.45am.
• A 50 second countdown will begin at 8.59am after which the blow-down will be at 9am.
To conclude the demolition process, the area will be checked and cleared by 9.15am and all barriers will re-open by 9.20am.
