Petersfield residents are complaining about the open electrical boxes and claim the wires are dangerous.
There is no cover to protect the wires from water damage, although they have insulation tape around them.
They fear for their children’s safety, as they claim children are curious and might fiddle with the wires.
According to residents, the electrical boxes have been open for more than three months.
A query has been sent to the Ekurhuleni Metro, but no comment was received at the time of going to print.
