Springs police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora says the man claims the robbers attempted to attack him, but he pulled out his firearm and fired a shot in their direction.
The bullet hit one of the suspects in the chest and the man arrested the injured at the scene.
He also managed to arrest the injured suspect’s accomplice.
The injured suspect was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is believed to be a minor.
