Netherlands for Ekurhuleni youth

The City of Ekurhuleni, as part of its 30-year Aerotropolis Master Plan, is offering the youth of Ekurhuleni an opportunity to study overseas.

The 30-year Aerotropolis Master Plan is a strategic tool to develop the city, while promoting and stimulating the airport economy in the surrounding area.

Therefore, investment in human development is a key focus in this pursuit.

This initiative by the City of Ekurhuleni is in partnership with the Breda municipality and Breda University of Applied Sciences (NHTV) in the Netherlands.

According to Ekurhuleni spokesman, Themba Radebe, the international programme has been developed with the aim of exposing youth from Ekurhuleni to specialised programmes in aviation, transportation and logistics.

These specialised programmes will equip students with the essential skills that will one day assist in developing the airport economy, which will aid the holistic growth and further enhance the growth trajectory of the regional economy.

There are 20 fully funded scholarships available to driven and hard-working young people, who are under the age of 35, and are looking to further their graduate studies.

The programme runs over a period of four years, starting on August 1 to June 30 2020.

Any young people who are keen on this opportunity and who meet the requirements thereof (as seen on the official city website) are urged to apply by April 30.
