Judi talks on ‘Happy campers’
Judi Smit from the Refined Raconteurs showed off her speech talent at the recent Toastmasters club contest held on Wednesday.
With the title ‘Happy campers’, she took second place in the speech contest and first place in the evaluations contest.
Each year thousands of Toastmasters compete in speech contests.
Judi will compete in the next contest to be held on April 25.
The competition begins with club contests and the winners will then continue competing through the area, division and district levels.
The international competition has two additional levels, the semi-final and the World Championship of Public Speaking.
Judi says the area ‘I three’ contest is a qualifying round for the International Speech and Evaluation Contest.
“Only Benoni Club and Refined Raconteurs participated in this contest,” she says.
Refined Raconteurs meet every first and third Wednesday of the month at Impala Platinum HRD in Cowles Street, Rowhill, at 5.30pm.
