Show Springs’ best side

The Springs Advertiser, in partnership with Foto Chaps is currently running a photo competition to find Springs' budding photographers.

The aim of the competition is for aspiring photo-fundis to show us what makes Springs a great town to live and work in, and what gets them excited about the town.

Rapailane Rasegoete is our first entrant and this piece of work will be hard to beat, but we’re hoping many more Springsites will put their lenses to good use and take what could be the winning picture.

Mike Lerios, from Foto Chaps, has sponsored a photography course – consisting of four lessons – for the person who takes the best photo showcasing Springs’ best side.

The course includes basic photography skills and techniques and is perfect for budding photographers wanting to improve their pictures.

Photos should represent the best of Springs.

While there is no set subject your photo should show the judges a positive side of our city and should illustrate why you love the city.

They may be taken in colour, sepia or black and white and can be either portrait or landscape.

Mike and two members of the Addie staff will judge the photos and the winner will be announced in our birthday edition on May 12.

All photos entered into the competition will be displayed at our Wheels and Wings show on September 10.

Submit your photo, which should be a minimum of 1Mb, in JPEG format to Samantha Keogh at samk@caxton.co.za by no later than April 22.

All entries must include the name and contact details of the photographer as well as a short description of where and when (time of day) the photo was taken and why this photo represents the best Springs has to offer.
