Second chance for teenagers who tested positive for drugs

Two teenagers who tested positive for drugs were sent to a drug rehabilitation centre in Pretoria on Thursday.

Henry Harber from Wild Wild Guardians, says the Springs Magistrate’s Court’s decision to send the children to a drug rehabilitation centre is the best solution for the two teenagers.

“They are grateful to be removed from their circumstances,” says Harber.

“The two boys are positive about their future and look forward to changing their lives,” says Harber.

Harber was informed about possible drug use at the house on Monday.

When the EMPD, Springs police and the Department of Social Development were at a house on Monday afternoon, approximately 20 people were tested for the presence of drugs.

Included in the group were these two teenagers, both 15 years of age.

The case was addressed by the Springs Magistrate’s Court and the teenagers were placed in temporary care on Tuesday.

The court will decide on May 11 whether the teenagers will return to the rehabilitation centre for further treatment or placed in foster care.
