Man hijacked in CBD

A man’s car was hijacked in Eighth Avenue, CBD on Tuesday.

He was on his way to a garage when two suspects approached him at 9.45pm.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says one man went to the passenger side of the dark grey Ford Bantam, while the other walked around to the driver’s side.

Both men were armed and pointed their guns at the man and ordered him to “get out”.

The man tried to run away, but was caught.

Ramphora says the man was taken back to his car where the two men robbed him of his cellphone and business cards.

They got into the Bantam and drove off.

The man looked for help and was taken to the Spring Police Station where a hijacking case was opened.
