Parkland staff awarded for long service

Staff members from Life Springs Parkland Clinic received their long service awards on Friday (November 27).

Hospital manager Adri Botes says it is an honour to have so many long serving employees as part of the team.

“They form the sound foundation that every company requires to ensure that company culture, values, skills and knowledge are maintained,” she says.

A business is as good as the people who work there is a true description of the dedication of the 27 members who have worked at Parkland between five and 25 years.

It doesn’t matter how long the length of service, all their staff are essential and it’s still important to take a moment to recognise them.

“We would like to thank them for all of their hard work, loyalty, dedication and contribution to the success of the Life Healthcare Group over their years within the group,” says Botes.

The staff who received five year awards are: Lillian Mashego, Portia Rambau, Ethel Malepa, Camelot Mnguni, Theresa Behrmann, Jackie Kock, Pam Dubula, Beauty Mkhonto, Puleng Mgwenya, Happy Mlambo, Megan Strauss and Peter Monedi.

The 10 years awards was received by Buthle Kubeka, Nomsa van der Merwe, Patricia Nhlapo, Lizzie le Roux, Johannie Powell, Geoff Merrifield, Ronell Nel and Sharleen Pillay.

Lisa Korf received a 15 years long service award while Stephina Dimo and Amelia Lombard received their 20 years award.

Amelia, who is the nursing manager, says it is a life long journey where one has new experiences everyday.

Staff members who have been with the hospital for 25 years are: Angelike Muller, Frans Bogoshi, Johanna Mbuyisa and Hannetjie Venter.

“I started at St’ Mary’s Maternity Ward on July 1, 1980 and am shocked as it doesn’t feel that long ago,” says Hannetjie.

Frans started working at the hospital on August 20, 1990 and says hospital management has only been good to him.

“My children’s children will also come and work at this wonderful and caring place as this is where our lives are,” says Frans.

The staff members were thanked for their dedication and loyalty to the hospital.
