UPDATE: Ebotse double murder case

Murder accused Retief Liebenberg (50), a Springs businessman, is expected to receive judgement in the Pretoria High Court today.

The state and the defence will argue their case during today’s hearing, after which he is expected to hear the verdict.

Liebenberg was called to the stand to testify on Thursday.

He then called his psychologist and a ballistic expert to the stand to testify.

On Wednesday the state called the security guard at the Ebotse Estate in Rynfield, Benoni to testify on what happened on the night of the murders as well as

Visser senior’s friend.

The state then concluded its case.

Judge Mahomed Ishmail heard the defence’s witnesses on Tuesday, Liebenberg’s daughter, his wife and brother testified on what happened on the night of the shooting.

A pathologist, the state’s first witness, testified on the bullet wounds found on the bodies on Monday, followed by the testimony of the first policeman on the scene.
