SAPS arrest three men for possession of drugs

Springs SAPS arrested three men for possession of dagga and nyaope in the Springs CBD on Monday.

Police were conducting routine patrols at 2pm in Second Street, when they noticed the suspicious-looking trio.

When they stopped and searched them, they found 14 small plastic bags of nyaope and one packet of dagga in their possession.

The men, aged between 23 and 25 years old, were arrested and taken to the Springs Police Station.

Springs police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora, says Second Street is notorious for illegal activities and police patrol the area regularly.

The value of the drugs is approximately R400.

The suspects will appear in court soon.
