The Tata Bolt 1.2 Turbo is a definite pleasure to behold as its sporty features are almost like none of its predecessors.

This next generation vehicle is light to the touch and easy on the gears.

It has 66KW under the hood with 140 torque, giving a very surprising pull-away speed, not what you’d expect from a 1.2 litre.

The turbo lives up to its name as the Bolt flies like a dream on an open stretch of road.

The Bolt has three modes to drive:

  • Economy
  • City
  • Default

The economy mode is switched on when driving long road, giving much better results on the fuel consumption.

The city mode is when driving through town and being faced with multiple robots and stop streets, it gives more power to the car, but takes a little off the speed.

Default mode is unlimited and gives the car its full power.

It has an electronic cluster on the dash, showing the driver in which gear the car is, as well as all the other necessary details.

The radio is voice activated and the temperature can be set via voice control.

The vehicle is also equipped with Bluetooth which can take two phones at a time when necessary, as well as USB, power steering, electric windows and 210 litre boot space.

With all that power comes responsibility as the vehicle has ABS and Electronic Break Force Distribution, cornering stability control and airbags for both driver and passenger.

The Bolt is manufactured in both hatchback and sedan and comes in low spec and high spec.

The high spec is equipped with rims and front and rear fog lights, where the low spec only has fog lights in front.

The Tata Bolt hatchback XT (high spec) vehicle is priced at R142 995.

The XMS (low spec) hatchback is priced at R132 995.

Some of the colours include white, silver, red and dark grey.
