Bowling is rewarding
The Springs Old Boys (SOB) Bowling Club held its AGM on Sunday followed by their annual prize-giving.
The club also selected its new committee members at the meeting, which was held at the club at 10am.
The new committee members are:
Chairman: Mike Clarke.
Vice-chairman: Steve Turner
Secretary: Annie Turner
Treasurer: Margie MacDonald
Competition secretary: Pat Arnott
Greenkeeper: Angus Ramsay.
Committee:Helen Veale, Sharon Pratt and Bea Gosse.
During the prize-giving, the following people received awards:
Kevin Usmar is the Men’s Single winner and Steve Turner is the runner-up.
The Senior Singles winner is Jon Birbeck and Rob Beardsley as the runner up.
In the Men’s Pairs, Stuart Pollok and Scotch Thompson were crowned the winners, with Steve Turner and Zjon Birbeck in second place.
The Men’s Handicap winner is Chris Williams and Kevin Usmar is the runner-up.
The Women’s Singles champion is Annie Turner with Cindy Hinrichsen in second place.
Paula Birbeck won the Senior Singles with Mary Izatt in second place.
The Women’s Pairs trophy was awarded to Helen Veale and Lyn Seiderer, with Mary Izatt and Annie Turner in second place.
Cindy Hinrichsen is the Handicap winner and Paula Birbeck the runner-up.
The Novice trophy was awarded to Dennis Clarke.
Jon Birbeck received the club’s Victor Ludorum and Annie Turner was crowned the Victrix Ludorum.
The Most Improved Award was presented to Dennis Clarke.
In the Mixed Pairs, the winners were Steve Turner and his wife Annie Turner, with runner-up pair Bea Gosse and Simon Khatu.
