Dersley businessman killed

The Dersley community is shocked to hear of the killing of a well-known businessman on Wednesday.

Five armed suspects entered the liquor store at 12.15pm, in Cloverfield Road and shot the man three times.

Paramedics declared the man dead on the scene.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the man, who is the owner of the building complex, was in the liquor store at the time of the robbery.

It is not sure what the robbers took from the shop.

One of the shop owners was tied up at the back of the shop during the robbery.

A woman on the scene, who is believed to be a co-owner of the shop, couldn’t speak proper English but said ‘it’s not nice’.

Ramphora says the shop’s CCTV camera footage will help the police in their investigation.

The deceased’s family was too traumatised to talk to the Addie.

Ramphora says more information will follow.
