EMPD seek help
A vehicle overturned on Springs West Road in Pollak Park after reportedly overtaking other vehicles on Wednesday.
EMPD spokesman, Wilfred Kgasago, says the driver claims he safely overtook other vehicles when he was obstructed by the driver of a speeding BMW sedan which led to his vehicle overturning.
He further claims that due to the inconsiderate actions of the BMW driver, he was compelled to suddenly swerve and as a result hit a lamp pole causing his vehicle to overturn.
According to the Opel Astra driver, who had one male passenger in his vehicle, the BMW sedan failed to stop at the accident and not a single person has come forward with the BMW’s registration number.
Both the driver and his passenger sustained minor injuries.
Paramedics treated the driver and passenger on the scene and took the passenger to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The EMPD are investigating the case with the aim to verify the Astra driver’s claims as well as locating the BMW driver.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is requested to come forward with information that can help the investigation.
