SAPS arrests woman for shoplifting

A woman was arrested by the Springs police for shoplifting at the Springs Fresh Produce Market at 5am on Monday.

The woman was seen leaving with several shopping bags after allegedly only having payed for the bananas and not the rest of the groceries.

Springs police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora, says the security guard noticed the woman leaving with more than what she paid for.

He stopped her, checked the bags and found groceries inside the bags.

Ramphora says the woman couldn’t explain where she paid for the groceries.

The Springs police was called to the scene and arrested the woman for theft.

She will appear in court soon.
