The case was postponed to July 3 when the four accused will appear in court C.
The four are facing three charges of murder, one of attempted murder and defeating the ends of justice.
They appeared before Magistrate Howard Raath, who allegedly referred to the case as “a holiday movie”.
Clerk of the court, Joel Mathikge, says the case is still under investigation.
He could not confirm allegations that the two detectives have been dubbed the “Springs Bad Boys” by the community.
The four accused are alleged to have tortured one of four men to death and allegedly conspired among themselves to kill the others as well.
The men were suspects in a murder case
The other three were taken to an open field where they were shot.
One of the men survived, however, and reported the shooting to his neighbour.
It is believed the bodies of the three men are still in a government mortuary.
