No arrests yet in Dunnottar police station shooting

The 47-year-old warrant officer who was shot and wounded during a shoot-out at the Dunnottar Police Station Client Service Centre on June 8, is still in hospital.

The policeman is reported to be in a serious but stable condition.

This comes after two men allegedly walked into the police station and opened fire on the warrant officer and a constable on duty.

While the constable was unhurt, the warrant officer was shot several times.

Police returned fire and a shoot-out erupted, after which the men fled the scene.

SAPS Provincial spokesman Lt Col Lungelo Dlamini says no one has been arrested for the shooting incident.

Police are, however, following several leads.

The constable is currently receiving counselling.

“We are calling on anyone with information to come forward,” says Dlamini.
