Road close for two hours due to accident
Three vehicles allegedly involved in accident.
The accident in which a vehicle crashed into a SAPS vehicle on Thursday (June 4) was the first of two accidents at the same spot on the same day.
Three vehicles were allegedly involved in the first accident.
On arrival at corner Nigel and Springs West roads in Selection Park at 6pm, officers Louis Els and Louwtjie du Toit found the unmarked vehicle belongs to the Springs Police.
They had to inform the police of the accident as the involvement of a police vehicle requires an investigation by the SAPS.
When Els and du Toit closed off the road an oncoming vehicle in Springs West Road collided with a police vehicle blocking off the road at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle allegedly didn’t see the police vehicle with its flashing lights blocking off the road.
No one was injured but traffic was affected for two hours.
Els says the police will investigate both accidents.
