Ducks to be relocated soon

The broken borehole pump at the George Sutter Park duck pond was replaced with a new one over the weekend.

According to Anita Greef, general manager of the Eastern Gauteng Chamber of Commerce, the pump burned out two weeks ago.

It is believed the cut-off switch on the control panel wasn’t working properly.

Springs businessman Goosey Fernandes installed a new pump on Friday.

Although the water in the pond is reaching low levels, Greeff says everything is back to normal at the pond.

The Selpark Dam Committee are making plans to have the ducks and geese moved back to the pond.

The ducks and geese are currently at the Selcourt Enclosure duck pond, where they were relocated after the dam project started at the beginning of the year.
