Man dies after being hit by car
A man was killed after he was hit by a car on Saturday.
The incident took place at around 5.55pm along Welgedacht Road, Bakerton.
When EMPD officers from Springs arrived on the scene, they found the body of an unknown man on the side of the road.
Officers Louis Els, Louwtjie Du Toit and Supt Jan Albrecht found personnel from Ekurhuleni Emergency Services already on the scene.
The man was declared dead by paramedics.
According to an eyewitness, the man was hit by a white Audi sedan.
The driver of the Audi failed to stop and drove off.
Cases of culpable homicide and leaving the scene of an accident were opened at the Springs Police Station, and are being investigated.
