Sunfield cares for special needs people

This home has been actively caring for special needs people since 1991.

Sunfield Fortuna Home in Balfour is an organisation committed to facilitating lifelong empowerment of intellectually disabled adults and children.

Holistic, sustainable support and upliftment programmes are provided to equip the intellectually disabled and to educate the community in which they function.

This home has been actively caring for special needs people since 1991.

A total of 96 mentally and physically disabled residents are cared for and looked after.

General manager Brenda Gouws, says caring is full time and on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week.

Basic needs are provided for and include social needs, feeding, accommodation and medical care.

She says they strive to continually provide and upgrade the homely environment in order to assist the residents.

Their aim is to assist each person living at the home to reach their full potential and be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
