Junior cricket season comes to an end

The best juniors were honoured at the Springs Old Boys Club's annual prize giving.

The season for the junior cricket at the Springs Old Boys (SOB) cricket club came to an end last weekend with its annual prize giving, held on Sunday at the club.

The U/14 Super team is the only SOB junior team that won this year’s Easterns league in their age group.

Their best batsman was Kyle Meiring (348 runs and three 50s), the best bowler Keagan Lynsky (18 wickets) and the team’s best all rounder was Sheldon van Zyl (273 runs and 11 wickets).

Rogan Reed received the coach’s award.

He had two 50 scores for the season.

With 268 runs, Christie Neethling was the best batsman in the U/12 A team.

Jayden Mostert, with 252 runs 9 wickets, was the best all rounder and Dewan Snyman, with 17 wickets, was the best bowler.

Mark-Edward Humphreys received the coach’s award.

The best batsman in the U/12 Super team was Neill Joubert with his 449 runs, five 50s for the season.

The season’s best bowler was Luhumo Mahlangu (10 wickets).

The all rounder of this team was Nathan Steyn (278 runs 7 wickets) and Nico Groble received the coach’s award.

In the U/10A team Divan Immelman was the best batsman with 275 runs and two 50s for the season.

The best bowler for this team was Dylan Joubert (11 wickets), best all rounder was Louhan Swart (56 runs and 6 wickets) and Johnny Taylor received the coach’s award.

In the U/10 Super league Keanu Coetsee was the best batsman with 202 runs for the season.

Kutenda Mharapara was the best bowler, taking 10 wickets.

Bernard Pieters was the best all rounder with 276 runs and 11 wickets.
