Still no postal delivery

Springs residents still need answers to when delivery of post will be back to full capacity.

Numerous people are waiting for important mail from overseas, whether it is their pension money or just a postcard or letter.

With the dismissal of 473 casual and part-time post office employees who embarked on an illegal strike during August, there is still no comment from the postal authorities on when post deliveries will be back to normal.

Promises by Christopher Hlekane, general CEO of SA Post Office, made early in September to convert 900 casual workers’ positions into permanent positions, still give no hope to residents to get their mail.

Although Hlekane could not say when the postal delivery will be back to normal, Johan Kruger, SA Post Office spokesman, says they will provide answers as soon as possible.
