Golf festival at Phollak Park
The oldies, the women, every one had their chance to play golf
Results of the Festival of Golf that took place during last week at Phollak Park Golf Club.
The festival started on Tuesday with a tournament for pensioners (BBS).
The winners were: 1. Wayne van der Westuizen and Koos Bouwer (43 points), 2. Butch Biggs and Hanif Seedat (42 points oco) and 3. Jim Howie and G Lee (42 points oco).
Wednesday was the Pro Shop Competition (IPS), with these results: 1. Ian McGrail (41points) and 2. Terry O’Connor (38).
Thursday, one of the highlights of the festival, was the Corporate Day (ball alliance).
At the end of the day’s play a member and a businessman, Matthews Mogabe, opened the new water feature at the golf course’s 17th hole after his company sponsored the establishment of this water hole.
The winners of the day were: 1, H. Hannekom, D. Thorpes, J. du Plessis and G. du Plessis (93 points), 2. Ian McGrail, Harry Wilson, Gary Kimble and Hein Snyman (91) and 3. Colin Spence, Gerhard Gibson, Pieter Niemann and Eric Stidil (90).
Friday had the Meat Competition (IPS).
Results were: Front Nine: 1. Frikkie Mynhardt (19 points oco), 2. Garth McKay (19 points oco) and 3. Janna de Jager (19 points oco).
Back Nine: 1. Garth McKay (20 points oco), 2. Peter Woods (20 points oco) and 3. Jan Steyn (18 points oco).
Saturday Members Competition (BBS): 1. Hilda Plumb and Cheryl Brooks (44 points oco), 2. Herman Le Roux and Jerry Le Roux (44 points oco) and 3 Lawrence Peters and Raymond Ayre (43 points).
