Cricket and netball action at Indoor Sport Centre

On a weekly basis, there is sports action at the Indoor Sport Centre where people of all ages enjoy playing either action cricket or action netball.

This centre houses the action cricket matches from 6.30pm each Wednesday and Thursday evenings, as well as action netball on Wednesday nights. Saturdays are practice times.

The cricket teams play in 10-week or 15-week leagues throughout the year.

The second league of 2014 is starting this week and teams of eight people each are welcome to enter. The teams will be playing trials during the first two or three weeks to determine in what league they will play for the season.

The top teams play in the super league against teams from other cities. The also practice each week with the other teams at the centre.

The first round of the super league starts on March 26 where each city gets a chance to host a day of matches. The Springs team will host this day on April 6 in the Indoor Sport Centre.

The action netball is played more for fun, so there are no formal leagues for this sport at the Indoor Sport Centre.

The teams compete at the same time when the action cricket is played on Wednesday evenings.

An action netball team needs seven players and anyone is welcome to join.
