They were caught trying to flee the scene after they robbed the BP garage in Dersley Park last Thursday around 6:15pm.
Captain Johannes Ramphora of the Springs police says two of three suspects were waiting outside while the third suspect was inside the garage demanding money from the owner.
He says according to the information that the police received from the victim, after a long time of argument between the suspect and the victim the suspect assaulted the victim and tried to flee the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
“Their robbing tactics failed them as the CPF members were waiting for them outside the garage,” says Capt Ramphora.
He says just when the suspects thought they got what they wanted, CPF members did not let them run away, but caught them and they were taken to Springs police station.
A case of business robbery has been opened against the three suspects.
