Modderbee honours officials

Recently, the Department of Correctional Service Modderbee Management Area hosted the sixth annual excellence awards.

The winners were announced at a gala ceremony held at the prison’s mess hall.

The hall was well decorated with a combination of pink, black and silver which was honoured by the audience who dressed in keeping with the colour theme.

The awards recognised champions in preventing fraud and corruption, excellence in enhancing security, humane treatment of offenders, reducing escapes, promoting society’s participation in corrections, contributing to poverty alleviation projects and excelling in customer care and service to the public.

The winners were Matlou Mabore who scooped first prize for the Batho Pele Award, Mohale Powder got the award for the Good Governance Award, the Development team received the Deputy Minister’s award, Madonsela Sipho got first prize for Education and Training and Mashego Glen scooped first prize for the Public and safety award.

All the winners will be representing Modderbee at the Regional Excellence Awards where they will be competing for first prize in order to become ambassadors of excellence at a national level.
