Soccer stars claim second place

African Tigers Bakerton performed outstandingly in the Wahda Junior Festival Soccer Festival over the weekend.

African Tigers Bakerton claimed the second spot at the Wahda Junior Soccer Festival in Pretoria over the weekend.

Imtiaz Ahmed Chouglay, Boca’s assistant coach, said they remained the best despite the U9 team competing against 18 teams.

The U6, U7, U8, and U9 teams represented their soccer clubs against 900 other players.

“Our juniors were impressive on the field, and we are proud of them,” said Chouglay.

The festival aims to keep kids off the streets by getting them involved in sports at an early age.

The African Tigers U8 and U10 teams now gear up for their tournament on October 15 and 16 in Roodepoort and October 21 and 22 in Vereeniging.
