The roadblock operation had a value-adding collaboration between the EMPD, Ekurhuleni District police officers, Gauteng Traffic Police, crime prevention wardens and the CPF.

Springs SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Themba Tshabalala said the operation was to ensure that commuters coming into the province abide by the Road Traffic Act laws and are not carrying any illegal items.

The operation saw the arrest of one illegal immigrant and a total of R2 800 in fines issued to motorists.
