Molendam residents spoilt on Mandela Day

Various organisations went around Springs to give back to causes close to their hearts.

Senior citizens at Molendam Retirement Home celebrated Mandela Day by being spoilt.

The Hlasempho Community Development Projects, the Springs SAPS, local CPF groups, wardens, PEP, SPAR and McDonald’s gave goodies such as fleece blankets and meals.

They also laid out a table full of snacks and spent time with the residents.

Martha Ntshona, the director of Hlasempho, said she found joy in giving back and spending time with the elderly.

“Everyone matters, but the elderly hold a special place in my heart. That is why I chose to spend my 67 minutes with them.”

The residents of Molendam could not express their gratitude enough when they enjoyed the feast and appreciated the gifts.
