Police recover dagga, six suspected dealers arrested

Six men are expected to appear before the Springs Magistrate's Court.

Six men were arrested on Monday in Daggafontein for possessing and selling dagga.

According to Springs SAPS communications officer Sergeant Themba Tshabalala, security officers on duty discovered the men after receiving a tip-off about suspicious activity in the area.

“The security team organised an operation and placed the officers in strategic places,” said Tshabalala.

“The security officers approached the six men after spotting them sitting in a field. The officers detained the men until the police arrived.”

Tshabalala added that while questioning the six, the police discovered a large black bag in their possession that contained 116 small packets of dagga and 10 medium packets with matches.

The men were arrested and taken to the Springs Police Station. They will appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.
