Springs Old Boys Cricket Club holds its AGM and prize-giving ceremony
On Friday night at Laerskool Selection Park, the Springs Old Boys Cricket Club held their season-ending prize-giving ceremony and annual general meeting (AGM).
The Springs Old Boys Cricket Club hosted its season-ending prize-giving ceremony and AGM on Friday night at Laerskool Selection Park.
At the well-attended AGM, the club’s chairperson Lionel Joubert made a report outlining the club’s financial status and the activities from the previous year.
After the AGM, the prize-giving took place and Joubert called the coaches to the stage to acknowledge them for spending their time training the teams.
Joubert explained that a coach is a person who teaches and understands the meaning of being a coach.
“As things stand now, it wasn’t an easy season to educate athletes and their parents. But these men here persevered to get the most outstanding performance possible from their teams,” remarked Joubert.
“Within them, there are those who did the Cricket South Africa coaching and empire level one courses to enhance their skills.”
Soon Strydom, Andre Homan, and Rudolph Lismore obtained their level-one accreditations as coaches, and Andre Homan and Heno Visser received theirs as umpires.
The prize-giving began with the club’s youngest teams, and they all received medals.
There were individual players who received trophies in the categories of best bowler, best batsman, all-rounder, and coach’s award.

U10 Sibali:

• Best all-rounder: Pieter van der Walt
• Coaches award: Petrus Labuschagne
U10 Impalas:
• Best bowler – Jayden Gray
• Best batsman – Marcel Koen
• Best all-rounder – Caleb Janse van Vuuren
• Coaches award – Christiaan Troskie
U10 Kingham:
• Best batsmen – Tyler Stander
• Best bowler – Luan Prinsloo
• Best all-rounder – Muhammad Umair Karolia.
• Coaches award – Dillon Huntley.
U12 Sibali:
• Best batsmen – Luhan de Necker
• Best bowler – Marko Swart
• Best all-rounder – Michael McCulloch
• Coaches award – Kaiden McLaren
U12 Impala:
• Best batsman – Lanro Koen
• Best bowler – Erich Lizemore
• Best all-rounder – Reinhardt Langehoven
• Coaches award – Michael Kelder
