Munic substation repairs are underway

The City of Ekurhuleni is working around the clock to repair the Munic substation that caught fire in May.

Essential equipment has been acquired to replace the material damaged by the fire.

The burnt transformer has been taken in for stripping and further investigation to determine what could have been the cause of the incident.

In the meantime, parts of Springs, including the Nuffield industrial area, continue to be supplied from a temporal facility.

The city requests patience as work to restore the substation to normalcy continues.

Customers are urged to treat all electrical networks as live at all times.
