Tekkie Tax is a fundraising campaign that was started in 2013.

Epilepsy South Africa, Geduld campus, is on a drive to raise funds through Tekkie Tax Day to assist with its psychosocial support programmes.
“Tekkie Tax is a fundraising campaign that was started in 2013.
“Some national welfare organisations in SA joined forces to establish a powerful national fundraising campaign called National Tekkie Tax Day.
“Since its inception in 2013, the campaign has raised nearly R48m. During the same time, Tekkie Tax generated sponsored publicity of close to R100m,” explained Sr Lindiwe Mdhluli, the sister in charge at the centre.
The project has historically been supported by thousands of individuals, companies, SMMEs, NGOs and schools.
National Tekkie Tax Day will take place on July 29.
