Shot fired during Pollak Park hijacking

The victim, who was travelling with a passenger, said he was driving along Hera Road when the occupants of a white VW Golf blocked the road.
“Four men with handguns got out of the Golf and ordered them to get out of the vehicle. A shot was fired by one of the gunmen. The two victims ran into the nearby bushes,” said Capt Johannes Romphora, communications officer at Springs SAPS.

“Two of the hijackers got into the H1 and drove off. Inside the vehicle was a laptop, a wallet containing a driver’s licence and ID, bank cards, a passport, a metre reading wheel, car keys and a CD stereo.
“The value of the stolen goods, including the car, is estimated at R367 500,” added Ramphora.
