Man shot and robbed after stopping on roadside

A case of attempted murder and robbery is under investigation.

A 41-year-old male motorist was shot on Sunday evening after stopping to urinate along the Paul Kruger Highway.
Two men confronted the man and his fiancée (34), who were driving home from a wedding after they pulled over.
The pair demanded the couple’s belongings.

“The man was shot and wounded in the process,” said Capt Johannes Ramphora, communications officer of Springs SAPS.
The victim was rushed to the Far East Rand Hospital for treatment.
A case of attempted murder and robbery is under investigation.
