Security guard ambushed by thugs

A security guard was overpowered at a recycling business in Fulcum on Wednesday.
The man opened the gate at 13:00 to allow a customer in with a bucket of scrap.
“More men approached the victim. They held him up and entered the premise’s office,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora, communications officer of the Springs Police Station.

The owner of the business was held up in the office and threatened with a gun.
The robbers took approximately R10 000 in cash and two cellphones.
“It is suspected they used a white Mercedes-Benz to flee the scene,” added Ramphora.
No injuries were reported.
