Local beauty donates much-needed supplies to SPCA

Miss Glam 2021 semi-finalists Navika Singh (18) recently hosted a charity drive to benefit the Springs SPCA.

Miss Glam 2021 semi-finalists Navika Singh (18) recently hosted a charity drive to benefit the Springs SPCA.
“I read in the Springs Advertiser that the SPCA needed food for their animals and I decided to act on this. I chose to support the Springs SPCA in partnership with the Southern African Animal Cancer Association (SAACA),” said Singh.
“One of the reasons I turned to these organisations is as a result of my compassion and care for animals. I chose to be their voice.”
She hosted the charity drive at the corner of Grant and Hospital streets in New State Areas.
“I collected food, blankets, toys and donations for both organisations.
“Munnik Marais together with Tamara from SAACA assisted me in setting up their stall with pamphlets, food-specific for animals with cancer and items for sale. All money collected on the day was handed over in aid of their organisation.
“All food, blankets and toys collected were for the benefit of the Springs SPCA,” explained the semi-finalist.

Singh recently did the official hand-over of all the food, blankets, toys and additional money collected.
“I visited the Springs SPCA and spent time visiting the kennels.
“I wish to thank the community and especially my family who supported my cause and assisted me during my charity drive,” she explained.
She stands by the words of the Dalai Lama, “Our prime purpose in this life is to help others and if you can’t help them, at least do not hurt them.”
