Vischkuil business left counting the costs after robbery

Once the guards were freed, they inspected the property and found the fence was damaged and that the men took three batteries, one Bomag engine machine, TLB steering instrument and a cellphone.

A pair of guards at a Vischkuil business were left shaken after a robbery at their workplace in the early hours of last Thursday morning.
One of the victims told police he was with his colleague in the guardroom when they heard the sound of a car outside.
There was a bang on the door and three men, all armed with guns, ordered the guards to lie on the floor.
They tied the pair up with shoelaces before ransacking the place and fleeing.

The guards’ boss arrived shortly after the men left, saying he had been alerted by Tracker that the batteries from the trucks had been removed.
Once the guards were freed, they inspected the property and found the fence was damaged and that the men took three batteries, one Bomag engine machine, TLB steering instrument and a cellphone.
The value of the stolen items is R53 300.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
