Cupcakes of appreciation for healthcare workers

From last Friday to Monday, the organisation went to several doctor’s rooms, local pharmacies, hospitals and the Springs and Nigel SPCA to hand out 2 000 cupcakes.

Local NGO Hope & Halos paid tribute to healthcare workers for Nelson Mandela Day by treating them to cupcakes.

The staff at the Life Springs Parklands Hospital were delighted to be treated to cupcakes.

According to the NGO, healthcare workers have placed their lives at risk every day during the pandemic to show their appreciation.
From last Friday to Monday, the organisation went to several doctors’ rooms, local pharmacies, hospitals and the Springs and Nigel SPCA to hand out over 2 000 cupcakes.

They were able to do this with the help of the community who donated money to buy the ingredients. Debbi Gaddy baked them at cost.

The cupcakes were decorated for healthcare workers.

The workers at the various pharmacies and hospitals were grateful for the cupcakes and recognition.
After the handover, Hope & Halos founder Louise Mawhinney was grateful for the support from the community.
“We are at a loss for words. Our community is very special indeed. Without you all, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do,” said Mawhinney.
