Man hijacked on First Avenue

The man told police he was driving home to Devon and was at the corner of First Avenue and Third Street when a white quantum taxi forced him off the road.

A 30-year-old Devon man was hijacked by three suspects in the CBD last Friday afternoon.
The man told police he was driving home to Devon and was at the corner of First Avenue and Third Street when a white Toyota Quantum with the registration NV59DPGP forced him off the road.
Once his car had stopped, three men jumped out of the taxi and one went to the passenger side of the car while the other approached him.

The hijacker closest to him grabbed his keys from the ignition and the victim jumped out of his car and fought with the hijacker.
The second hijacker intervened and the two of them pushed the victim away before the hijacker got into the victim’s car and drove off.
The other two hijackers got back into the taxi and followed their accomplice.
The stolen vehicle is a white Hyundai Atos with registration XRJ055GP and is valued at R67 000.
