Getting to know Mia Dhlamini

"I also have to study more because I set a very high standard for my academic work."

Mia Dhlamini has been appointed Veritas Primary School’s new head girl.
She stepped into her new role on Monday and plans to make the most of it.

How did you get to this position, how were you elected?
Each class had four weeks of leadership training and then learners were given a piece of paper to write down the name of the person they wanted as head girl, and I was the one with the most votes.
I just started on Monday so I’m still settling into the position, but I’m looking forward to it.
What extra responsibilities do you have now as a head girl?
My responsibilities include looking after the younger learners and making sure the classes are quiet and in order whenever the teacher leaves.
I also make sure the learners do what they are told and don’t break any of the school’s rules.
