A Welgedacht couple was tied up during a house robbery in their First Avenue home, last Thursday evening.
The husband told the police he had just come out of the outside bathroom when he was approached by two men who pointed a gun at him and instructed him to go inside the house without making a noise.
When they entered the house, he saw two other men holding his wife.
The men informed the husband they had been sent to kill him but if he gave them money they would not harm him.

After the husband informed the men he didn’t have any money, they instructed the couple to lie on the floor before tying them up and taping their mouths with sellotape.
The men took two cellphones, a laptop, R2 800, a passport, a driver’s licence and the couple’s car.
Before fleeing, the men covered the couple with blankets, placed chairs on top of them and locked them inside the house.
The total value of the stolen items is approximately R163 000.
